Tips for Creating a Romantic Valentine's Day Table
Welcome to our Valentine's Day at Home Blog Tour! I've teamed up with some talented bloggers to bring you inspirational ideas for decorating and entertaining this Valentine's Day. If you've found your way here from Alma's blog at Almafied thank you for stopping by! I love Alma's casual, modern style. A special thanks to Kelly at The Greenspring Home who organized this holiday blog hop so you could have many ideas at once for this romantic holiday.
I appreciate it when my husband gives me beautiful flowers and a sentimental card on Valentine's Day. Honestly, we like to focus on doing something together to celebrate the holiday, such as going on a bike ride on my favorite trails, or a car ride up the coast. Whatever activity we choose to do, we always make time for a champagne toast to us!
For Valentine's Day we like to gather friends together and have a "romance themed" dinner at home in honor of Valentine's Day. Let me share with you my tips for creating a romantic Valentine's Day table for entertaining at home.
The definition of romance varies greatly. To me romance has a lot to do with color. When setting the table I start by using the romantic color of pink. I love shades of blush for romance. To keep things simple and really allow the pink to take center stage I contrast with white and have used a natural linen table cloth.
This blush glassware rimmed in gold if perfect for this romantic table.
I always think of roses as the most romantic flowers, so I added them to the table in a simple way.
The soft romantic shape of this ginger jar and its lace cut out design reminds me of lace doilies. My Trader Joe's didn't have any beautiful pink roses available so I decided on these white tulips instead. I love the romantic effect of vintage Valentine's Day cards. This one was given to me by a dear friend and resembles my dog Carmen.
I used gold flatware, because of its warmth and shine. This silky blush ribbon tied up as a bow is definitely a romantic touch that adds a lot of interest to this simple tablescape.
A soft velvet blush pillow and throw on the settee cozy up this table and add a romantic vibe.
I always think flickering candlelight adds so much romance to any setting.
My daughter and I streamed The Great British Baking Show over the Christmas holidays. This inspired me to bake for Valentine's Day. This cake is a gorgeous pink from the raspberries used in the cream cheese frosting. In between the layers are more fresh raspberries. I even made the meringue kisses. I know they don't look perfect, but they taste good. I think this cake is a romantic addition to our dinner party. You can get this recipe at Country Living.
Homemade heart shaped sugar cookies are out for my guests to nibble on. I have pretty pink and gold boxes packed with cookies as 'Valentine' gifts for my guests to take home.
I appreciate you stopping by for a look at my romantic Valentine's Day table. I know you want to hop over to see what Valentine inspiration Tammy at Pink Peppermint Design has for you!
