A Uniquely Beautiful Thanksgiving Table
I love Thanksgiving. Family and friends gathering together to express gratitude is a beautiful thought. I like to change up my tablescape for Thanksgiving every year. Last year I used traditional fall colors on a rustic table with plaid accents and turkeys, so this year my decor will be very different. I'm creating a uniquely beautiful Thanksgiving table. A special welcome to those of you that are visiting from Olivia's blog at Reinvented Collection. I know she inspired you with her beautiful decor! I love Olivia's gorgeous home and fabulous style! Thank you for hopping over!
I love pumpkins, so I knew I wanted to incorporate them in my tablescape. Earlier this fall I made a special trip up route 1 to Half Moon Bay to get white pumpkins for a simple neutral fall tablescape. You can see this neutral fall harvest table HERE. These same pumpkins are used on my Thanksgiving table.
I love this linen stone washed table cloth. I don't iron it because I love the soft natural texture it adds to the table. I usually like multiple layers of fabric in all my designs, but not here. I decided to keep it simple.
Aren't these napkins perfect? I found them at HomeGoods. The gold embroidery is beautiful and speaks to the holiday. The blush gold rimmed glassware is so festive!
Sticking to my simple theme I used white plates from HomeGoods. The curves and raised dots on these plates create so much interest and depth to the table decor.
Antlers are the natural organic element I wanted to use in the centerpiece. I have these antlers displayed in the backyard, so to clean and whiten them for the table I bleached them. I simply filled a big bucket with bleach and water and let them soak overnight.
I placed the pumpkins randomly on the table around the antlers. Then I added the colorful flowers, tucking them between the pumpkins. I like the way candlelight livens up any space by bouncing light and sparkling around the table, so I scattered votives amongst the flowers and pumpkins.
Dessert on Thanksgiving means pumpkin pie! When we have a larger gathering I include more dessert choices. This cake is a yummy old fashioned spice cake with cinnamon cream cheese frosting! Country Living magazine has some fabulous fall cake recipes including this one.
Thankfulness is on my mind. With so much going on in the world I'm so thankful for my family and friends. Continuing the spirit of gratitude, I would like to thank you so much for stopping by my posts. I really appreciate you being here. I hope you all have a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday! ~Joan xoxo
