2 Ladies Spring Home Tour: Joan's Home
Welcome to my home! I confess, I've got spring fever! I'm excited for it to be warm and sunny again. I can't wait to get outside-or better still, to open the windows and doors and let the outside in.
I couldn't pass up this spring/Easter paper garland set and the bunny peeking out of the basket. I also had to bring out "topiary bunny"! It's a subtle spring vignette to welcome my friends and family.
I love decorating with mirrors for every season. They bring light and movement to a room making it feel warm and inviting. I especially like the way these tulips seemingly multiply in number when placed in front of this mirror.
I anticipate the season and start bringing fresh blooming flowers inside....everywhere. Sunny yellow daffodils and tulips are my favorites this time of year. I also love to force blooms on branches. I place topiaries, house plants, and succulents on every available surface.
I try to simplify colors and knicknacks in the spring. Well, I have simplified my colors...but it's really hard for me to pare down on knicknacks. I'm in love with all things white, gold, and shiny. This gold tray and everything in it are my new treasured finds from HomeGoods!
I change out textures in my home as well, like linen sheers on the windows so I can capture all the sunlight I can. I also put out soft woven cotton in spring shades, floral patterns and gingham checks. I still leave out white faux fur for chilly spring nights.
The faux fur stools add fun to the family room! So does this fabulous white and gold cowhide tray all from HomeGoods.
Spring is a traditional time for house cleaning. I love to renew my house each spring with the usual household chores. I also have a fresh eye on other details around the house. This is when I get out the touch up paint for the walls, wax some furniture, and my husband cleans the windows (I'm so lucky).
Even fresh herbs come into the kitchen. They do well in this sunny window. The herbs smell amazing...a natural air freshener!
The HomeGoods mirror above the bed was the inspiration for this bedroom decor. I painted my old furniture a distressed grey giving it new life, then I chose a bold grey and white floral for the bedding. I shopped HomeGoods for the accessories and also found this adorable tufted chair which is perfect in this space.
Thank you for visiting my home! I hope you catch a dose of spring fever and have a fabulous spring!! Enjoy!
