Holiday Home Tour.....
I'm so excited to welcome you to my home this December. All year long, I was dreaming of our family having Christmas in a cabin in the woods, a romantic notion. Unfortunately, reality kicked in and instead of going to the woods I brought the woodsy cabin feel to our home. A lot of our traditional Christmas decorations stayed in their boxes this year, and I tried to focus on bringing out only the ones that would fit our theme.
These natural-looking decorations welcome you at the door.
A cozy sheepskin throw with leather, knit and leopard pillows create a comfortable atmosphere in the family room. The following picture shows the matching sofa on the other side of the room, decked out with its own fur throw and plaid pillows for the cabin feel.
When I think of a snug cabin in the woods, I think of a fireplace, lots of candles and lanterns. So I brought in a lot of my outdoor lanterns and filled them with candles, snow and pine cones to create the right ambiance.
Even my family room desk was covered with lanterns, pine needles, birch candles and a hedgehog.
I did a quick update to one of the desk chairs. Off with the fall print seat cover, on with the red plaid cover. Even this antique garden Santa has made an appearance to give a rustic look.
I added a red fur throw, a little sparkle and a bit of peace, love and joy to my husband's cigar and car room. Also, there's an Arctic fox on his leather chair.
These little guys are older than me! They bring back nostalgic Christmas memories.
Just for Christmas, I created a festive bar in the kitchen, ready for entertaining drop-in guests.
My creative friend made this tree. I'll write more about this artist and her natural wood pieces in January.

Thank you for letting me share my "into the woods" Christmas decor with you.
